Job Description / Duties

• Working in a collaborative team and assisting with various tasks including but not limited to; asset realization activities, preparing and reviewing written correspondence, spreadsheet/reports, financial models (including sensitivity analysis and “what if” scenarios) as well as inventorying assets.
• Interacting with business owners to develop options for their financial challenges
• Communicating with creditors , reviewing and analyzing security documents, proofs of claim, etc. as well as liaising with various stakeholders, including clients, lawyers, lenders and other financial professionals as required
• Contributing to developing presentation and proposal materials for the team
• Analyzing financial data and reviewing accounting records to assess the financial viability of a company
• Attending marketing activities and developing a set of marketing contacts with a view to developing new business and assisting the team market its services
• Supporting other internal practice areas in our Transactions Services group as needed
• Researching industry trends and performing analysis
• Being committed to ongoing learning in the area of restructuring

Qualifications / Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance or related field
• CA/CPA designation
• 2-4 years of progressive experience within a professional services setting
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Strong research, analytical and report writing skills
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong client relationship skills and focus
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
• Desire to enroll in the CIRP Qualification Program of the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals
• Must have access to a vehicle.
