What We Do

CAIRP provides its members with innovative education and professional development, promotes world class professional standards, partners with government and regulatory bodies to enhance the insolvency system and promotes the ideals of the profession to the public at large.

Our key areas of activity include:

  • Providing innovative education, training and continuing professional development that includes:
    • CIRP Qualification Program (CQP),
    • Insolvency Administration Course (IA),
    • Practical Course on Insolvency Counselling (PCIC), and
    • Professional development conferences, webinars and online learning
  • Promoting the excellence and services of CIRPs through:
    • The media and advertising
    • CAIRP magazine and blogs
    • Government and stakeholder relations
    • Community engagement
  • Building thought leadership and advancing public policy through:
    • Developing reports and submissions on proposed legislations
    • Developing interventions in court cases
    • Sponsoring public conferences on insolvency-related topics
    • Commissioning research projects on important issues in Canada's insolvency and restructuring system
  • Advising and partnering with:
    • Federal and provincial governments
    • Federal and provincial courts
    • Regulatory bodies such as the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy, Financial Consumer Agency of Canada
