Job Description / Duties

As an Asset Specialist with Bromwich + Smith you will own the following:

- Participate in the administration of bankruptcies and consumer proposals by facilitating liquidation of a variety of assets, such as real estate, vehicles, recreational equipment and other items.

- Prepare various reports in respect of asset reviews required by the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA).

- Conduct searches as required, including Land Titles, Motor Vehicles, and Personal Property.

- Contact stakeholders, including individuals, banks, credit unions, trust companies, and any other credit granters that may have an interest in the asset.

- Take ownership of the files under your review.

Qualifications / Required Skills

- You have a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.

- You have experience valuing assets, not limited too, but primarily focused on Real Property and motorized vehicles, including, automobiles and trucks, recreational vehicles, ATV’s, and motorcycles.

- You have experience in various online tools to aid and substantiate your asset valuation, including Municipal and County Tax Assessment Notices, Google, MLS reports and comparative reports, an understanding of the information available in Canadian Black Book, Autotrader, and Kijiji.

- You have bank/lending experience with a financial institution with a specialization in mortgage and secured/unsecured lending.

- You have experience reviewing and understanding Security Agreements, Liens, and Encumbrances.

-You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Information

NICE TO HAVE:

- Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC).

- Canadian National Association of Real Estate Appraisers.

- Alberta (other Provinces/Territories can be included) Assessors Association.

- Graduation from the Auctioneering College of Canada.

- Insolvency experience would be considered an asset.
