David Lewis, BSc, CPA, CA, CIRP
David Lewis practices corporate insolvency at Grant Thornton Limited in Edmonton, Alberta. In addition to being a Licensed Insolvency Trustee and a CIRP, he also holds the CPA designation and has a strong background in science (Bachelor of Science Degree, University of Alberta 2001) as well as an Accounting and Strategic Management Diploma from Grant MacEwan College (2003).
David has an extensive background in all areas of accounting, including audits and corporate tax, as well as expertise in the oil and gas industry. David also supports troubled small, medium and large enterprises with recovery strategies. He has undertaken a number of financial viability assessments and insolvency proceedings and has experience on corporate bankruptcy, working on corporate proposal under the BIA and CCAA and private and court appointed receiverships.
David is currently a member of the Board of the Alberta Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals. He has also been a speaker and regular attendee at CAIRP’s Annual Insolvency and Restructuring Forums in Alberta.
In his spare time David enjoys exercising regularly, attending hockey games and volunteering for his church.
