Job Description / Duties

Our Oshawa office is looking for a Consumer Insolvency Cousellor to join the Financial Recovery Services team and own the following responsibilities:

• Perform first and second Counselling Sessions under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act at various offices in Durham, Scarborough and York Region.
• Assist consumer debtors and creditors, both in person and by telephone, as it relates to bankruptcies and proposals.
• Schedule appointments and assist in completion of application check lists.
• Assist with telephone enquiries.
• General Support of the Licensed Trustees and Senior Administrators.

Qualifications / Required Skills

• You have at least 1 year of previous insolvency counselling experience and are registered with the OSB as a Certified Insolvency Counsellor.
• You have completed the BIA Administrator Course or are willing to enroll.
• Knowledge of Ascend software would be considered an asset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize with the flexibility to manage multiple tasks as required.
