Conference Fee

Conference Fee (including podcast access post event):
General Registrant: $975 + tax
Judges, Academics, Articling Students, CQP Students: $225 + tax*

For 2023 Conference Only: Refund 2 weeks prior to the opening of the
Conference, by Thursday, January 19th by 8pm ET are permitted. After this date, no refunds will be permitted for any reason.
Substitutions will be allowed up to 3 days before the opening of the Conference, by Monday, January 30th.
All requests for a refund and/or substitution must be provided in writing to natalie.alfano@cairp.ca.

ARIL Podcast Program

The popular ARIL Podcast Program is back this year with 15 episodes and will be presented to all attendees for access on Conference day. Please check your email for further instructions on how to listen to the episodes. Please click HERE to view the full program listing. If you cannot attend the Conference, the Podcast Program will available for separate purchase post event HERE

Conference Hotel Reservations:

The room block at the Hyatt Regency Calgary is currently sold out. For those that booked at the Hyatt, please note it is the policy of the hotel that a non-refundable deposit for one night stay plus taxes and fees will be charged by the hotel on January 27, 2023. The deposit will be forfeited if the reservation is cancelled after January 27th.

To accommodate those who still wish to book a guest room, we have made a block of rooms available at The Fairmont Palliser (133 9 Ave SW). ARIL Journal

Available on CanLII; access information to be sent to conference attendees. The Papers will also be available on InsolvencySource for existing subscribers and published by Thomson Reuters as a hard copy/e-book for purchase. If you are interested in purchasing a printed book and/or e-book edition of the Annual Review of Insolvency Law through Thomson Reuters, there is a time-limited 25% discount if ordered by the end of day on February 3rd.  The printed and/or e-book cost is not included in the conference registration fee and must be purchased separately through Thomson Reuters. The discounted price for the book only or e-book only is $177 (including shipping but not including taxes). The price for the bundle (print book & e-book) is $221.25 (including shipping but not including taxes). All commercial transactions will be between the attendees and Thomson Reuters. CPD/CLE

  • CAIRP members who attend the conference will receive a total of 5 hours and 35 minutes of MPD – type 1 for fiscal year ending March 31, 2023.Credit for the ARIL Podcast Program is calculated on an hour-for-hour basis, e.g., a 30 minute episode provides 0.5 hour of MPD – type 1, for fiscal year ending March 31, 2023.
  • Alberta: Lawyers submit their own hours. For Alberta lawyers, consider including this course as a CPD learning activity in your mandatory annual Continuing Professional Development Plan as required by the Law Society of Alberta.
  • British Columbia: The Law Society of British Columbia has approved 5 hours and 35 minutes of CPD for the ARIL Conference, as well as all 15 podcast episodes (11 hours and 15 minutes of CPD) for the ARIL Podcast Program.
  • New Brunswick: Lawyers submit their own hours. For New Brunswick lawyers, please consider including this course as a CPD learning activity in your mandatory annual Continuing Professional Development Plan as required by the Law Society of New Brunswick.
  • Ontario: The Law Society of Ontario has approved 2 hours and 10 minutes of Professionalism content and 40 minutes of Professionalism content for the ARIL Podcast Program. Please see the breakdown below

For the ARIL Conference: The Honourable Donald Brenner Memorial Keynote: Barb Stegemann contains 45 minutes of Professionalism Content; Bits & Bytes: The Rise and Fall of Crypto contains 40 minutes of Professionalism Content; Judicial Panel contains 45 minutes of Professionalism Content.

For the ARIL Podcast Program: Bits & Bytes: The Rise and Fall of Crypto contains 40 minutes of Professionalism Content.

  • Quebec: The Barreau du Quebec has approved 5 hours and 35 minutes of CPD for the Conference as well as all 15 podcast episodes (11 hours and 15 minutes of CPD) for the ARIL Podcast Program. After the Conference, we will send out certificates to attendees where applicable.

* Articling students must be studying full time (i.e. not working full time) in order to be eligible for the articling registration fee. CQP students must be enrolled in the CIRP Qualification Program at the time of event registration. PCIC/IA students must register as a General Registrant.
