Christopher Armstrong, Partner, Goodmans LLP
Christopher Armstrong is a partner in the Corporate Restructuring Group at Goodmans LLP in Toronto, which is consistently and widely recognized as Canada’s leading corporate restructuring practice. Described by clients and peers as “very talented”, his practice focuses on financial restructuring and insolvency, mergers and acquisitions and corporate law. He regularly acts for debtors, lenders, ad hoc committees, court-appointed officers, purchasers and other stakeholders in complex Canadian and cross-border restructurings. Sharon Kour is a founding partner at Reconstruct LLP in Toronto. She solves complex problems. Clients rely on Sharon for her sharp intellect, keen sense of pragmatism and ability to efficiently navigate a path to success. Sharon is a founding partner of Reconstruct LLP. Prior to joining her partner, Sharon spent close to a decade at McCarthy Tétrault. Sharon’s expertise is in insolvency and restructuring and commercial litigation. She frequently acts as counsel to debtors and various stakeholders in insolvency and restructuring proceedings under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act and the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
Sharon also acts for court officers in wide-ranging court-appointed, regulatory and public inquiry mandates. Sharon's peers respect her ability to build consensus in complicated situations. Adam Slavens, Partner, Torys LLP
Adam Slavens is a partner at Torys LLP in Toronto. He advises and represents creditors, investors and purchasers, restructuring corporations, equity holders and official court-ordered appointees in the financial restructurings of distressed companies in out-of-court workouts and refinancings. Adam also has experience with formal proceedings under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act and arrangements under the Canada Business Corporations Act.
