Honourable Chief Justice Geoffrey B. Morawetz, Superior Court of Justice
The Hon. Chief Justice Morawetz was first appointed a judge of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in 2005. In 2013, he was appointed Regional Senior Justice for the Toronto Region of the Superior Court. Then, in 2019, he became the Chief Justice of the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario. He has co-authored Bankruptcy and Insolvency Law of Canada Houlden and was named in Canadian Lawyer magazine (2011) as one of the “Top 25 Most Influential in the Justice System and Legal Profession in Canada”.
Honourable Justice Shelley C. Fitzpatrick, Supreme Court of British Columbia
Madam Justice Fitzpatrick was appointed to the Supreme Court of British Columbia in June 2010. Since her appointment, Madam Justice Fitzpatrick has sat on a variety of matters before the British Columbia Supreme Court with some emphasis on insolvency matters. She has been and continues to be the supervising Judge on a number of Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act proceedings before the court.
Honourable Justice Barbara E.C. Romaine, Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta
The Honourable Justice Romaine was appointed to the Court of Queen’s Bench in 1997. She is a graduate of the University of Alberta, (B.A. 1971; LL.B, 1974) and was called to the bar in Alberta in 1974. Justice Romaine practiced as a corporate and commercial solicitor for 23 years. Although the Court of Queen’s Bench does not have a formal commercial list, Justice Romaine is one of the judges of the Court assigned to bankruptcy, CCAA and complex commercial matters.
