Job Description / Duties

About the Role
As a Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT), you play a critical role in helping Canadians navigate insolvency with dignity. You will manage consumer bankruptcy and proposal files, provide expert advice on insolvency law, and ensure all proceedings are handled ethically and effectively. This position is ideal for someone committed to both technical excellence and compassionate debtor service.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Key Responsibilities
• Administer consumer bankruptcy and proposal files.
• Provide expert advice on insolvency law, rules, and procedures.
• Oversee asset evaluations, dispositions, and liquidations.
• Guide and mentor insolvency administration staff.
• Maintain communication with debtors, creditors, the OSB, and the courts.
• Attend creditor meetings, hearings, and court as required.
• Support offices in Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario as needed.
• Collaborate with other trustees to share expertise on complex files.

What You Bring
• Fully Licensed Insolvency Trustee (CIRP).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a practicing LIT.
• Strong knowledge of insolvency legislation and procedures.
• Ability to manage complex caseloads and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience with Aryza (Uberbase) is an asset.
• Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA) is an asset.
