Job Description / Duties
What are we looking for?
As we are continuing to grow, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Estate Administrator. In this role you will be responsible for managing the administrative tasks associated with the management of personal insolvency files.
What will you be doing?
• Responsible for the overall administration of bankruptcies from the date of our Appointment as Trustee through to the Discharge as Trustee managing all deadlines and ensuring timely completion of all associated administrative tasks.
• Fielding incoming calls and ensuring they are handled efficiently and by the appropriate parties.
• Assist with Consumer Proposals when needed, including issuing dividends, notices, affidavits, certificates of full performance, etc.
• Responsible for the preparation of the 7-month review for bankruptcy files
• Overseeing asset realization which involves sending out the initial correspondence to collapse assets, preparing the release letter for secured creditors, following up on assets with various financial institutions.
• Responsible for the discharge process from the preparation and mailing/scanning of Section 170 reports (Form 82) along with the oppositions (Form 80) as required and the preparation of the post-discharge agreement letters and ensuring they get signed and returned in a timely manner.
• Overall management of court packages for the discharge hearing in various courts that involves preparation, submission, and tracking.
• Corresponding with debtors and creditors
• Obtaining and updating required income and expense information from debtors with follow up regarding income changes and creditor notifications.
• Responsible for the ongoing monitoring of the bankruptcy file looking for possible issues that could alter the automatic discharge and to provide resolutions to any issues to ensure the debtors are back on track for discharge.
• Reviewing and entering proofs of claim.
Qualifications / Required Skills
• Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in business administration, finance, or a related field preferred
• 5 years experience in insolvency estate administration, or a similar role is preferred.
• Strong organizational sills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
