Job Description / Duties
POSITION SUMMARY
CAIRP is Canada’s preeminent association for the education, standards and advocacy of insolvency and restructuring professionals. Reporting to the President & CEO, this position requires a highly effective leader with a finger on the pulse of the latest developments in the field of insolvency and restructuring and the latest trends in professional education. Further, the incumbent must be committed to forging strong relationships to engage and leverage the talents and skills of the organization’s member volunteers to facilitate the development, delivery, and assessment of effective policy positions and exceptional professional education programs. Ability to speak and write fluently in both English and French is considered an asset.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director, Policy and Education Programs is responsible for:
• Working with CAIRP’s Consumer and Corporate Practice Committees, develop and implement policy and advocacy positions based on CAIRP’s short- and long-term strategic plans including monitoring, reviewing and analyzing policy developments in the insolvency and restructuring marketplace, managing the development of policy projects and initiatives, and leading the development of a variety of policy materials such as reports, factsheets and briefing notes.
• Plan and implement CAIRP’s research activities with a focus to the evolving insolvency and restructuring marketplace in Canada and globally.
• Collaborate and build broad network with external partners and stakeholders to meet CAIRP’s policy and education goals.
• Working with CAIRP’s Intervention Committee identify cases where insolvency principles are at play and where an intervention might be warranted.
• Overseeing the development and maintenance of education programs for CAIRP. Provides leadership in the planning, development, implementation, review and evaluation of program content, instructional supports and operational procedures;
• Working with the relevant Committees to identify policy changes required, review the direction of the educational programs and the results achieved by candidates, developing and implementing new policies and procedures as required.
• Working with the Exam Boards, to ensure that focus is directed to meeting both the exam blueprints and the expectations for candidates at each level in the Program. Reports regularly on results and program improvement plans for the education Programs.
• Identifying and addressing the need for additional programs and supports for the CQP and other educational programs to enhance candidate success rates and the learning experience.
Qualifications / Required Skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Academic background and experience
• Graduate degree in fields related to public policy, law, business administration, education, or a relevant field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant leadership experience in policy development with a passion for professional education

WORKING CONDITIONS
• CAIRP Head Office is in Toronto, Ontario.
• We offer a hybrid working model – a positive, balanced work environment. Employees spend most of their time working remotely with some in-office days.
• CAIRP will consider applicants from across Canada interested in conducting this work remotely.
• Any employees based outside of Toronto will be expected to travel to Toronto for in-person meetings or as the job demands.
• From time to time, it may be required to work outside of normal business hours, particularly when working with members.
