Job Description / Duties

The opportunity

Our global network of Restructuring Services professionals helps clients develop financial and operational strategies to improve liquidity, credit availability and shareholder return. Our Restructuring Advisory Services team is fully integrated both within our wider Transaction Advisory Services practice and our firm as a whole, and our clients reap the benefits of this broad range of knowledge, skills and experience. We work on the basis of creating long-term relationships with our clients and our teams work closely with them to understand their short and long-term goals - being there at every stage to identify problems and recommend and implement solutions that deliver measurable results.

Your key responsibilities

As a manager, you will be part of the restructuring team helping our clients evaluate capital options, capture greater transaction value and achieve strategic objectives - whether they are buying or selling a distressed asset, restructuring a business, dealing with underperformance, or looking to improve cash management. You will assist in the planning and execution of engagements including performing in-depth analysis of a debtor's financial situation and identifying strategies for dealing with various issues.

Qualifications / Required Skills

To qualify for the role you must have
• Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Accounting or equivalent
• Designated Canadian CPA with minimum 3 years post qualification experience
• Completion of or demonstrated progression through the Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional Qualification Program
• Experience on large, complex restructuring engagements
• Experience developing and working with cash flow models
• Advanced business modelling skills and experience required
• Proven capabilities in problem solving, situational analysis, creativity, negotiation and decision making
• High level of technical competence in conducting financial analysis
• Ability to prepare high quality written communication
• Comprehensive understanding of financial statement analysis
• Ability to travel as required
Ideally, you’ll also have
• Effective time management, especially under tight deadline pressures.
• Comprehensive understanding of financial statement analysis
• Superior analytical skills
• Demonstrated project and people management skills
• An energetic attitude toward successful project completion
• Strong interest in building a business network and participating in business development activities
• Excellent spoken and written English and French language skills
