Restructuring & Recovery Managing Director
Newpoint Advisors is a turnaround consulting firm dedicated to improving troubled and financially underperforming businesses with revenues of $1-50MM and/or senior debt of less than $10MM. Our collaborative, process-oriented approach allows us to deliver objective solutions for a fixed fee and on a fixed timeline. We work with our clients to identify the immediate threats to their business and fundamentally improve their processes. Newpoint advises on every aspect of the recovery and restructuring process – from the diagnosis of a company’s financial position, to the strategy, to cash conservation / liquidity management, to business plan development and implementation. We’re currently looking for a Managing Director to join our team.
Overview
As Restructuring & Recovery Managing Director, you will manage various insolvency and corporate restructuring engagements, providing assistance to financially stressed / distressed or insolvent businesses and their stakeholders. You will participate in the development of a fast-growing, entrepreneurial consulting practice including assisting in marketing, training, client pitches and product and practice development.
We are seeking qualified individuals to join the Newpoint team; skills should include experience in:
• Operational and accounting analysis and leadership around developing and executing turnaround plans
• Project management
• Financial modeling, including scenario planning
• Financial Analysis
• Understand and work with 13-week cash flow modeling
• Business development and marketing our seven key services to our referral sources

Primary Responsibilities
• Collaborate with Newpoint colleagues, client personnel, professionals from other firms, and other stakeholders to achieve engagement objectives
• Assess financial, operating and bankruptcy/restructuring prospects
• Utilize business, finance, accounting, and analytical skills to perform tasks including, but not limited to the following: financial modeling and analysis, cash flow forecasting and management, contingency planning, transaction support, and business plan review
• Assess the company’s long-term viability and business strategy, recommending and implementing a financial restructuring plan
• Assist with liquidation and valuation analysis
• Cash flow projections to model business processes or actual or hypothetical transactions
• Participate in business development, marketing, and practice development activities. Identify, target, and develop referral sources to explain and engage them as the trusted advisor regarding insolvency services
• Communicate and liaise with key stakeholders throughout the crisis period including; clients, lenders, creditors, lawyers, and other financial professionals
• Demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism, ethics, quality and integrity

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, Management, Economics, or related field
• Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) required
• At least 7 years’ professional work experience, ideally in a consulting or professional services environment, providing financial restructuring to distressed companies
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the capacity of a Licensed Insolvency Trustee
• Entrepreneurial mindset with experience networking within local region; Proven success in the areas of business development and sales

• Expertise in financial modeling and analysis (particularly in Excel), including constructing and understanding 3-statement financial models, cash flows and scenario analyses
• Ability to interpret the results of qualitative and quantitative analysis and develop insights and recommendations
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize changing work demands and learn quickly
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience managing or leading and overseeing junior staff
• Professional certifications such as Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) preferred
• Willingness to travel up to 10%
