Vanessa Allen CIRP, LIT is a Senior Vice-President and with MNP’s corporate recovery group, working out of Calgary. She leads both formal and informal insolvency and turnaround engagements for troubled companies in a wide range of industries, including real estate, not-for-profit, seniors’ care facilities, oil and gas, retail/ wholesale, manufacturing mining, hospitality and gaming. A trusted advisor working in restructuring since 2002, Vanessa acts in a variety of corporate insolvency engagements, including bankruptcies, proposals, private and Court-appointed receiverships, proceedings under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act and Chapter 15 proceedings. Vanessa also handles business reviews and monitoring engagements for companies that may be experiencing poor financial or operating results.

Vanessa is actively involved in the professional community and has made presentations for the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Annual Review of insolvency Law, the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (“CAIRP”) and the Turnaround Management Association as well as having published articles in the Annual Review of Insolvency Law and Rebuilding Success magazine. Vanessa was a recipient of an Outstanding Volunteer Award from CAIRP in 2023
