Our Speaker:

Eric Blouw, Lawyer, Pitblado Law
Eric Blouw practices in the areas of commercial and civil litigation, and has appeared at all levels of court in Manitoba. Eric graduated from the University of Victoria’s Faculty of Law in 2012 and obtained his LL.M. from Kyushu University in Japan in 2013. He became an Associate at Pitblado Law in June 2015. He has co-authored several publications on topics related to COVID-19 such as executing affidavits and declarations; managing litigation; potential claims during the pandemic.

In 2012, he was awarded the Fasken Martineau DuMoulin Prize in I.P. Law Research and in 2001, he also received the Sybil Inkster Award. He previously served as Vice-Chair of  Entertainment, Media and Communications Law Section at the Manitoba Bar Association during 2016 – 2019. Before that, he was the director of Arts and Cultural Industries Association of Manitoba from 2015 to 2018. Currently, Eric is a member of the Meritas Young Lawyer Liaison, Law Society of Manitoba, Manitoba Bar Association, and the Canadian Bar Association. Eric has also been a volunteer at the Legal Help Centre since 2014.
