Forrest Finn, Associate, Cassels Brock and Blackwell LLP
Forrest Finn is an associate in the Restructuring & Insolvency Group at Cassels. Forrest’s practice focuses on bankruptcy proceedings, receiverships, and commercial restructuring. He advises and represents trustees, debtors, directors, and creditors and is frequently involved in proceedings pursuant to the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act and the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. Forrest also practices in commercial finance and commercial litigation and has appeared before the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the Supreme Court of Yukon, the British Columbia Court of Appeal, and the Yukon Court of Appeal.
Forrest graduated with a Juris Doctors from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. In law school Forrest received the Rotman@Law certificate for business and won the corporate finance award. Forrest was also an active member of the student community, where he helped found the First Generation Network and worked as a research assistant. Prior to law school, Forrest graduated first class honours with a Bachelor of Honours Arts from McGill University.
Emma Newbery, Associate, Dentons Canada LLP
Emma Newbery is an associate in both Dentons’ Banking and Finance group and Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy group. As part of the Banking and Finance group, Emma assists financial institutions, private lenders and borrowers in connection with commercial lending matters, and counsels clients on structuring, negotiating, and preparing financial agreements and associated loan documentation and security. In her restructuring, insolvency and bankruptcy practice, she focuses on credit and debt collection, security enforcement, bankruptcy, receivership, restructuring law and related litigation.
Emma has appeared before the British Columbia Supreme Court and the Yukon Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.
Prior to joining Dentons as an associate, she summered and articled with the Firm.
