About Harvey

Harvey Chaiton is a partner of Chaitons LLP and practices in the areas of bankruptcy and insolvency with particular emphasis on receiverships and corporate restructurings, including insolvency litigation. He has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario and the Supreme Court of Canada to argue cases on diverse issues arising in insolvency matters under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act and the Personal Property Security Act. Harvey has extensive experience advising Canadian and international financial institutions, private and public corporations, indenture trustees, private equity firms, asset‐based lenders, equipment lessors, unsecured trade creditors, debtors, private and court‐appointed receivers, monitors, liquidators and trustees in bankruptcy in Canadian and cross‐border corporate restructuring, receivership, bankruptcy, liquidation and enforcement proceedings. He is a member of the Insolvency Institute of Canada, the Ontario Personal Property Security Law Committee and the Commercial List Users Committee. Harvey is well-known and highly regarded within the legal community. He is listed by Chambers & Partners which ranks the best law firms and lawyers in jurisdictions throughout the world and has been recognized by Lexpert® and The Best Lawyers in Canada as a leading insolvency and restructuring lawyer. He has lectured extensively on the topic of bankruptcy and insolvency and is the immediate past Chair of the executive committee of the Canadian Bar Association of Ontario Insolvency Law Section. Harvey studied at the University of Western Ontario and obtained his LL.B at Osgoode Hall Law School in 1980. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1982.

About Remo

Remo Agostino has over 20 years of experience in professional planning and real estate development.  Remo joined Daniels in 2003 after approximately 7 years with a private planning consulting firm, specializing in land use development.  Remo is a graduate of the University of Toronto, Masters in Planning program, Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and a Member of the Urban Land Institute.   

Remo leads a dynamic development division at Daniels.  Remo analyzes land acquisition opportunities, manages developments through the municipal approvals process, participates in community engagement/consultation and municipal permits process.  Remo has been part of the Daniels’ team implementing the Regent Park Revitalization, since 2006. Remo has also participated in the City of Toronto’s Private Sector Affordable Housing Roundtable, which produced the report “Housing Makes Economic Sense”.

About Bryan

Bryan Tennenbaum is a Senior Partner of RSM Canada LLP and President of RSM Canada Limited. He practices primarily in the corporate restructuring, recovery and insolvency areas. He is a Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT) and provides leadership, effective strategies and resolutions in corporate reorganizations, business investigations, receivership assignments, proposals, bankruptcy matters and liquidations. Bryan was the Managing Partner of Mintz & Partners LLP, a leading mid-market accounting and advisory firm, prior to its January 2008 merger with Deloitte & Touche LLP. Bryan has been widely honoured for his noteworthy contribution to his profession and to the community.
